09-09-2017 First New York Chinese-American Sports Competition


On 9/9, the New York Bodhi Meditation Center participated in the first New York Chinese-American Sports Competition. Attendees include Queens City Councilman Peter Koo, Qiu Jian (the deputy consul general of Chinese Consulate-general in New York) and leaders of other Chinese- American organizations. The goal of the event was to encourage the regular practice of sports, as well as, promoting Chinese culture.

The New York Bodhi Meditation Center was invited to be one of the contestants in the group competition. 60 Bodhi meditators were chosen to perform Energy-Bagua in 3 large circles. As a result of everyone’s hardwork, Bodhi Meditation Center won first place!

9月9日,陽光燦爛,秋高氣爽!紐約皇后區大學碩大的運動場,正舉辦運動會——紐約首屆華僑華人運動會。 紐約市議員顧雅明、中国驻纽约副总领事邱舰與一眾僑領參加,發展華人體育,增強體魄,弘揚中華文化及風采!紐約菩提禪修中心也榮幸地應邀參加,與眾團體參與表演競賽。紐約禪堂展示了八卦風采。大約有60位同修,圍成了3個圈,做了精彩的演示。最终,我們獲得了團體賽冠軍,贏得了這一殊榮!On 9/9, the New York Bodhi Meditation Center participated in the first New York Chinese-American Sports Competition.
